Professor Yohanan Petrovsky-Shtern organizes "Relics of the Galician Jews" exhibit in Lviv, Ukraine

On March 28, 2018, the "Relics of the Galician Jews" exhibit opened at the Museum of Ethnography in Lviv, Ukraine. The exhibition commemorates the 85th anniversary of the first Jewish exhibition in Lviv (1933) and was curated by Dr. Ludmyla Bulgakova and co-organized by Dr. Yohanan Petrovsky-Shtern, Crown Family Professor of Jewish Studies and Professor of History at Northwestern University. The new exhibition features about 450 Jewish artifacts including etchings and paper-cuts, silver and golden wedding rings, bronze synagogue candelabra and hanukiot, brocade head-covers and prayer-shawl collars, ark covers and wooden decorative plates, porcelain and glass utensils, and other items.
